Reminders
· If you wish for your child to have lip balm or hand lotion at school, you may fill out a brief form in the office and give it to us in the classroom with the child’s name on it. We can dispense it to the child as needed or requested. They may not keep it in their backpack or pocket, as children tend to share these items.
· We will play outside as long as the wind chill is 20 degrees or over. Please make sure to dress your child appropriately: warm coats, hats, mittens (mittens work better than gloves!), and write their names on the insides!
· Remember we strive to be a peanut-free zone for the safety of our children with allergies.

News
We are planning some special gingerbread activities this month. We will read several versions of The Gingerbread Man, do math, music, language, and art activities with the gingerbread man theme, and make our own gingerbread man. I sure hope he doesn’t run away from us! Stay tuned . . . J
e are also planning a special Pajama and Pancake Party! As the name implies, we will wear our pajamas to school and make pancakes for snack. It will be a cozy day in the Red Room on one of our cold winter days! We will do it for both classes: Wednesday, January 18 and Friday, January 20.
Rapunzel and Brown Bear have almost finished making their rounds of our friends’ homes, and will soon take up permanent residence in the Red Room. We will now begin our next take-home bag: the Mystery Bag. When the bag comes home with your child, you will together pick out something from around the house (not a toy, please) and put it in the bag. Then you will help them write three clues about what you put in the bag. We will have fun at group time guessing what your child brought! There are instructions on the bag.
Project News
We continue to have learning and play opportunities around the theme of hair. Our dramatic play area is set up as a hair salon. We will measure and chart hair lengths, play a matching/recognition game with our hair, make our own signs for our salon, etc.
